all the warmth in this shot is coming from a post production white balance adjust.... the flash behind me is gelled blue, and shifting away from blue made the daylight balanced flash in front of me go warm. it's a nice feel, sort of a last rays of sunlight thing happening.
it's important when taking a picture of someone with a strong nose to not let the tip of the nose break across the far cheek line. otherwise you get a lot of unwanted visual strength to the nose itself. it just calls a lot of attention to the nose. in this shot, i'm really close to breaking that cheek line. but it's not, so it's all good.
