the idea for this picture was to put three flashes into my 40" softbox, all at full power. i was thinking this would be so much light at such brightness that the falloff curve would be super quick, and it would be like holding your face a millimeter above the glass on a photocopier..... properly exposed, and everything an inch away cloaked in shadow.
it pretty much worked that way, too. it's like a chart from over to under exposed going across my face. one eyebrow is completely blown out, and the other is just an extension of shadow areas.
i ran this through imagenomics portraiture to clean it up a bit.... it added that soft focus smoothness to it that i don't care for, but it was worth it.
